Our Troop
Our girl members are DAISIES (Kindergarten kids and 1st graders), BROWNIES (2nd and 3rd graders), JUNIORS (4th and 5th graders), and CADETTES (6th, 7th, and 8th graders). Our girls go to lots of different schools and come from different backgrounds. We like to giggle, talk, learn, cook, explore, help others, craft, and especially to play outside and go camping!
Our troop meets about twice a month on Thursday evenings at St. Matthews UMC on Browns Lane. Typically our meetings are 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Read more about troop meetings here.
Beyond meetings, we do one or two additional troop activities each month like service projects, arts and culture events, cookie booths, slumber parties and camping trips. While adults support us in scheduling events, the GIRLS in our troop decide what to do and lead the planning process. Girls usually choose a balance between working on Girl Scout badges and Journeys and activities that are just for fun. As girls grow, they progress to ever more challenging Girl Scout programs. We are typically able to fund all our troop activities through our annual cookie sale and annual troop dues of $20 per girl. Check out our upcoming event plans here.
Membership in Girl Scouts also allows girls to explore fun activities beyond the troop like family camping on holiday weekends, summer day camp with other girls from our area, and a wide array of programs listed on the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana Council's website.

Volunteer Support
Our troop is supported by adult volunteers. We ask that at least one adult register from each girl's family to help in some capacity, either in a regular or occasional role. We are only able to run meetings and attend special events when we meet required ratios of adults-to-girls.
